Recently, Zhejiang Juyue Gear Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Juyue Gear"), located in Wenling Economic Development Zone, has presented a busy production scene.

"This batch of goods is to be shipped to France today. There are a total of 9 containers, worth more than 11 million yuan." Luo Jiajia, foreign trade manager of Juyue Gear, said excitedly, "The company's foreign trade situation is very good this year, and we have already received export orders of 700 to 800 million yuan. The production plan has been scheduled until the end of the year."

"The order for these 9 containers mainly comes from Stellantis, the world's fourth-largest automotive group and one of our main customers." General Manager Wu Duobing said. Not only Stellantis, but also many well-known brands such as ZF, BorgWarner, and Chery are their customers, including 9 Fortune 500 companies. At the beginning of this year, Juyue's orders have already soared to 2 billion yuan.

Layout of New Track, Creation of "Growth Curve"

What is the secret behind such a large order for small gears? Aiming at the new energy field, laying out a new track, and creating a "growth curve" are the key.

In 2019, Stellantis, a European automotive giant, issued a "hero post" for a new energy vehicle gear project that was about to be launched. However, the cooperation conditions were quite harsh: suppliers needed to bear more than 30 million yuan in development costs and project risks, and the development cycle was as long as 4 years. Many companies chose to wait and see. At that time, the little-known Juyue had an annual profit of only more than 10 million yuan, but it dared to take a gamble and became one of the companies that signed this challenging agreement.

"After 4 years of joint research and development, in May 2023, this customized version of the new energy high-speed gear achieved mass production. The speed reached 16,000 to 20,000 revolutions per minute, and it also takes into account efficiency, noise, strength, and lifespan, reaching the global top level." Wu Duobing introduced that thanks to this flagship product, Juyue's output value in 2024 more than doubled compared to the previous year. The word "dare" allowed the company to leap forward, from being outside the top ten in the industry to the forefront of the industry.

New Year's Opening with New Products: Juyue Has New Weapons

Focusing on market gaps and continuously conquering new technologies and new projects has always been Juyue's interest.

"Last year, we developed more than 300 new products, 80% to 90% of which are high-precision gears, and half of them have been mass-produced this year." In the exhibition hall, Wu Duobing proudly pointed to one of the new products and said, "This is the engine balance shaft assembly that we just mass-produced in December last year. It was specially developed for Chery and consists of two pairs of high-speed gears, which can make the engine smoother and quieter. Now, this product has also been favored by Geely."

He introduced that last year, the Taizhou Municipal Government facilitated a bridge between Geely Group and held an industrial chain docking meeting. "We introduced this product on the spot, and it immediately aroused the interest of the leaders of Geely Group. Now we have started small-batch trial production, and it is expected to achieve mass production in April this year."

Not only in the field of new energy passenger vehicles, but this year Juyue has also begun to enter the field of new energy commercial vehicles. "Domestic new energy commercial vehicles only started last year, and this is a market with huge potential." Speaking of this, Wu Duobing showed off their "new weapon", "This is the axle gear we developed for new energy commercial vehicles. Compared with passenger vehicle axle gears, it has a larger load capacity, more complex structure, and higher precision. There are not many companies in the market that can do this kind of work, and we have already achieved mass production, which will also be our new growth point in the future."

Catching Up with Orders at the Beginning of the Year, Customers Urging Delivery

"With many new products and new orders, we have been busy catching up with orders recently." Gong Shipeng, manufacturing director of Juyue Gear, said that many workers only took a three-day holiday during the Spring Festival this year and returned early to work. "Nearly 1,000 workers in our workshop started working from the third day of the Lunar New Year, with a daily production capacity of more than 50,000 pieces, producing and shipping on the same day."

"Now customers are chasing us to urge orders, and some customers are so anxious that they want to come to our company to supervise our production." He said with a smile.

It is worth mentioning that in order to cope with the busy production, Juyue Gear has also accelerated the use of new factory buildings.

The new factory building is about 15 minutes' drive from the headquarters, with a total area of nearly 20,000 square meters. Electron beam welding and other production lines have been put into production, and workers are debugging the newly arrived equipment. Wu Duobing pointed to a large open space and said: "More than 300 new pieces of equipment will be gradually introduced, and we will strive to fill the new factory building in the near future, and the production capacity will increase by one-third."
